New to matcha, or want to try our different grades? Our introduction to matcha kit includes mini sizes of all our unflavored matcha options: premium grade, matcha reserve, and ceremonial grade so you can taste the differences between them and get started on your matcha journey.
Each kit includes:
15g Premium Matcha - Grown in Shizuoka, Japan with a sharp, vegetal aroma and light green color. Machine picked and made with a variety of cultivars this is the perfect base for all of our flavors. This matcha starts out smooth and ends on a sharper note. We consider its quality in between a culinary grade and ceremonial grade matcha.
15g Matcha Reserve - Grown in Yame, Japan with a deep green color and a deep, almost chocolatey aroma. Machine picked, made from a single cultivar of matcha called Okumidori, or "deep green." This matcha starts on a rich vegetal note but is balanced by a nutty aftertaste. We consider its quality on par with ceremonial grade matcha.
15g Ceremonial Matcha - Grown in the heart of Uji, Japan with a rich, vibrant green color and fresh, grassy aroma. This matcha is picked by hand to ensure only the highest quality leaves get ground up. Each sip is incredibly smooth with a light floral finish.
Bamboo Matcha Whisk - The traditional tool for preparing matcha. Features a small stamped 3 Leaf Tea logo on the handle. Using a "W" or "M" motion, whisk matcha vigorously to create froth. To clean, rinse with warm water after each use and let dry. Not dishwasher safe.
Whisk Holder - Great for displaying, drying, and maintaining your whisk's lifespan and shape.
Fine Mesh Sifter - Sifting matcha, especially ceremonial grade matcha is recommended to remove any clumps to ensure a smooth cup.
Each 15g bag makes enough for approximately 7 servings and comes in a resealable pouch for easy storage.
100% Pure Japanese Matcha
Traditional:
Add 1 tsp matcha into a bowl. Top with 2 oz of 175° F water. Using a bamboo whisk, whisk in a zig-zag motion until frothy. Add 6 oz more warm water.
Hot/Cold Matcha Latte:
Add 1 tsp of matcha into a bowl, then add 2 oz of 175° F water. If using a bamboo whisk, whisk in a zig-zag motion until well blended and frothy. If using a milk frother, add water first, then matcha, and blend. Top with 6 oz of warm or cold milk. Sweeten to taste.
Shake It:
Add 8 oz water or milk to a water bottle, mason jar, or shaker cup. Add 1 tsp matcha and shake vigorously to combine.
Tip: Use a bottle with a ball whisk or add ice to help reduce clumping.
Blender:
Add 8 oz water or milk with 1 tsp matcha into a blender. Blend. Feel free to sweeten to taste, add ice, or add matcha directly into your favorite smoothie.
Mix in: Stir matcha (to taste) into yogurt, oatmeal, or sprinkle on top of fruit.
